Cork fabric is derived from the bark of cork oak trees, primarily found in the Mediterranean region. This material is celebrated for its eco-friendly nature as the cork harvesting process is sustainable and supports the longevity of the trees, contributing to a healthy ecosystem.

One of cork’s standout properties is its natural water resistance. Cork contains suberin, a waxy substance that makes it virtually impermeable to liquids and gases. This feature ensures that items made from cork remain dry even in adverse weather conditions, making it an excellent choice for bags and accessories that may be exposed to moisture

Nonetheless, the Cork model will come with instructions and some advice on some of the best water-repellant sprays which work very well both to make the surface more stain-resistant and also increase its water-repellant properties.

As a general advice, we do not recommend exposing the bag to heavy rains for extended periods of time, as the materials it is made of is not waterproof.

Cork's natural elasticity and honeycomb structure help make it a strong and durable material, however, like any natural product, it will eventually show signs of aging. Some of these are beautiful in the form of a patina that develops over time.

To increase the durability and further enhance the malleability of cork, during the crafting process we also line it with a microfiber. When it comes to comparing the Recycled Cork to Saffiano Leather, that is quite a challenge because Saffiano Leather really is one of the most durable, water-resistant, and easy-to-clean materials.

We believe both are great options and unique in their own way, with the difference being that the Recycled Cork model will require slightly more attention.

It is also quite easy to maintain, requiring only simple cleaning with water and mild soap to keep it looking fresh​

We will be sharing instructions and some advice on some of the best water-repellant sprays which work very well both to make the canvas more stain-resistant and also increase its water-repellant properties, for the Santorini model.

Saffiano leather has excellent water-repellant properties, so if you were to compare the Santorini canvas directly with the Saffiano leather it would be difficult for it to match the water-resistant properties.

Having said this, the canvas is relatively thick and dense, which means that for example if you get caught out by a shower it would take quite a significant amount of time until the water would enter the bag. In fact, there are higher chances of the water slowly sipping through the teeth of the zippers as opposed to the actual Santorini canvas.

The good news is that you can also increase the water-resistant properties of the canvas by applying the special sprays. We will have more details about this in the updates before the fulfillment phase.

This new model maintains the rich look of the heritage but all the comforts and care ease of the Saffiano leather.

Saffiano leather is distinguished by a diagonal and cross-hatch pattern, making it durable and ideal for products like bags.

This type of leather has been adopted and preferred in fashion for its scratch-resistant, water-repellent properties, and easy maintenance, ensuring a long-lasting appearance.

We went through a lot of tests and prototypes before we could reach the ideal dimensions so that the bag is large enough for it to be as versatile as we wanted it to be while being light and nimble to carry when you just want to throw a couple of things inside.

The Laptop Case does come in 2 sizes, one crafted specifically for the Grand, and one that is crafted specially for Air.

While the Air Laptop Case is designed to fit laptops between 11" - 14" MacBooks, La Mansio Grand Laptop Case is designed to fit 11" - 16" Macbooks, or laptops of similar sizes.

Yes, they are! You can easily attach a pair of handles you have from your Air to your Grand bag, and the other way around too.

Although the La Mansio One Laptop Case will fit inside the bag its important to know it will not connect to the new magnet positioning made within the Grand bag

First of all and probably the most important point is common sense.

If you choose to use a leather cleaner we recommend also applying a conditioner in order to ensure that the leather is replenished with its needed oils.

A simple 10 minute care routine every 2 months could look as follows:
1. Clean your bag well with a damp cloth of any dirt and impurities.
2. After it has dried out, apply a thin layer of Ecco Wax on a cotton cloth and rub on the leather in a circular motion.
3. Finally, use an area of the cloth that is clean to rub over the product and remove excess

There is no single rule as to how much conditioning your leather needs as it all depends on the way the good is used and elements it is exposed to. If the leather appears dried-out and dull then that is most likely a sign that it is lacking its natural oils, therefore it is probably a good time to apply the conditioning treatment.

Avoid using any cleaning products that have harsh chemicals or alcohol in them, the leather should maintain its quality look.

Regardless of the product, we strongly advise that you test-spray on a small and unnoticeable part of your bag (such as the bottom) first to see if the product will discolour or have any adverse effect on the leather.

The Heritage Brown is a premium leather that is tanned in a classic and timeless 'cuoio' brown cowhide leather.

Its semi-aniline finish enriches the aesthetics through unique nuances and textures that are maintained through the light tanning process.

This allows it to maintain many of its natural properties, characteristics and appearance. It is these irregularities and light wrinkles that are natural characteristics of the leather, making each La Mansio bag truly unique.

The Saffiano leather is an emblematic type that can trace its origin to Mario Prada, the founder of the famous Italian brand.

This type of leather is created by embossing the diagonal and cross-hatch pattern, making it praised for its durability and high resistant, yet elegant finish.

After the patent expired, it was widely adopted by prestigious fashion houses because its waxy finish and cross-hatch design is highly durable, scratch resistant, can repel water and stains, making it superior to many other types of leather.

All these characteristics also make it one of the easiest to clean with a damp cloth, meaning that it maintains its aesthetics very well over time.
